State Botanical Garden of Georgia
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia provides opportunities for recreation, events, research and learning through its
natural areas, display gardens and building spaces to the public and members of the University of Georgia community.
At the State Botanical Garden, a fundamental mission is to provide knowledge and experience. The beauty, serenity and
vibrant flora provide a natural setting for relaxation, play, learning and exploration. The Mimsie Lanier Center for Native
Plant Studies is the Garden’s headquarters for native plant restoration, conservation, education, production and
safeguarding, providing a workshop-style teaching space available to UGA courses and plant professionals for
horticulture, restoration and seed biology classes. The Georgia Native Plant Initiative showcases the horticultural appeal
and ecological value of Georgia native plants in all kinds of gardening.
