Campus Kitchen
Campus Kitchen at UGA, a student powered hunger relief program of the Office of Service-Learning, is combating food
waste and senior hunger in the Athens area through partnerships with UGArden, the Athens Community Council on
Aging, Talmage Terrace Senior Living Community, and various local grocery stores and restaurants.
In 2013, over 350 CKUGA volunteers rescued nearly 35,000 pounds of otherwise wasted food, transformed it into
12,925 healthy meals, and delivered them to over 300 seniors in need. CKUGA donated 16,648 pounds of food (beyond
meals) to various local nonprofits.
