How to Apply Step 1 Select the course you would like to study at JCU, taking note of the duration, cost and campus availability. You may wish to include a second course preference. Application deadlines ?? January for Teaching Period 1 1 (Semester 1) ?? June for Teaching Period 2 1 (Semester 2) The following course have earlier application deadlines ?? Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Veterinary Science Closing date is the last Friday in September. Applicants must also complete a separate application form provided by the Faculty. www.jcu.edu.au/fmhms/ forms Step 2 Send your completed application form with all supporting documentation, including certified academic transcripts and/or work experience, and Academic IELTS/TOEFL scores (if required) to James Cook International or lodge your application with one of JCU’s authorised overseas representatives. Your academic transcripts must be accompanied by the grading scale/key used at the institution where you have undertaken your studies. Representative details can be found at www.jcu.edu.au/ international/jcurepresentatives If documentation is in a language other than English, an official certified translation must be included and translated by the issuing institution or by an official translating service. Step 4 If your application is successful, we will generate an electronic Offer which you will receive by e-mail. The Offer letter includes ?? name and duration of the degree you have been accepted into ?? credit you have been any awarded for previous study (if course syllabus of previous subjects provided with your application) ?? tuition fees, student services and amenities fee and Overseas Student Health Cover Links to ?? Preparing for Arrival at JCU ?? Accommodation information. Step 6 We will then issue you an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). This is the document you will need to obtain a student visa for Australia. Further details will be provided upon acceptance of your Offer. Step 7 Use your eCOE to obtain a student visa from your nearest Embassy or Consulate in your home country. Please note that visa applications can take up to three months or more to process, depending on your nationality and/or the country you are applying from. Step 8 Once you have a student visa, you are ready to begin your study at JCU. Step 5 Once you have received your Offer, please complete and sign the Acceptance and Payment Agreement form and meet any conditions outlined in your Offer Schedule and return it to James Cook International or your JCU representative, along with any payment as set out in your Offer letter. Step 3 We will assess your application based upon academic and English entry requirements for your preferred course.
