BACHELOR OF ARTS
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is a flexible degree allowing students to tailor a program to suit their individual career aspirations. Arts graduates find careers in the private and public sector in many diverse roles. Specialisations are available in ?? Anthropology ?? Archaeology ?? Criminology ?? English ?? Environmental Studies ?? Geography ?? History ?? Human Services ?? Indigenous Australian Studies ?? Media and Writing ?? Political Science ?? Psychology ?? Screen Studies ?? Sociology Students can take single or double majors. It is possible for students to choose subjects from complementary disciplines from other JCU programs. Combining the BA with professional degrees in law, education, science or business gives complementary skills valued by employers. Regardless of the major or specialisation chosen the Bachelor of Arts consists of common first year core subjects that include ?? Time, Truth and the Human Condition ?? Space: Networks, Narrative, Our and the Making of Place In addition to core subjects, students complete subjects required for their chosen major plus electives.

Archaeology
Course highlights Archaeology students at JCU have access to world-class, in-house geophysics equipment. You can participate in site visits and fieldwork projects throughout northern Queensland. An archaeological field laboratory on the Townsville campus provides experience in field techniques. Career opportunities Archaeology graduates pursue careers in universities (as teachers and/or researchers), museums and interpretive centres, forensic science laboratories, government departments, local councils, and communities charged with heritage protection and management.
