Must Haves on a Rainy Season and Disaster

Philippines is a hot country but when it rains, it’s like there’s no tomorrow. Every now and then we would be hearing from the news that there are people who lost their house, lacks their food supplies, children on the evacuation areas are getting sick, most people are not prepared and doesn’t know what to do.

So here are things that we should store and prepare to keep us alive in this rainy season and for events of an emergency or disaster:water

Water. Clean drinking water to avoid dehydration

Food. Non-perishable, and easy to prepare and carry. And can openerhealthy foods if accessible

Multi-purpose tool. For fixing

things and immediate tasks

Flashlight, batteries, battery powered AM/FM radio. to know the news in case of power failure, and to keep you entertainedfirst-aid kit

First-aid kit. To immediate prevention of infection from injuries or harm

Whistle. For cases that you need to let others know where you arehygiene

Clothes, sanitation and personal hygiene items. Such as soap, feminine hygiene products, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.

Family and emergency contact information, copies of personal documents. Medication list, proof of address, deed/lease to feeding bottlehome, passports, birth certificates

Supplies for babies, with pets, disabled or sick. Consider the needs of all family members

Extra cash.

And to avoid getting shocked and surprised from disasters; watch, read, get a way to know the news regularly, not just your favorite soap operas, and entertainment stuffs.
