SAMPLE PROGRAMME
Improving health, wellness and quality of life
through world class innovation in food
At Food for Health Ireland (FHI), knowledge of food
is used to improve health and knowledge of health
is used to improve food.
The focus of the research programme is on milk and
the discovery of new ways to develop functional food
ingredients and products. A ‘functional food’ is one
that serves a purpose beyond basic nutrition, promoting health or reducing the risk of certain diseases.
