NWG have a huge focus on - and have actively worked with - Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility within the global supply chain for several years . Ways of how we are working towards a more sustainable future are as below :
NEW WAVE PRINCIPLES
• NWG work for sustainable development that maximizes our contribution to globally agreed goals for sustainable development , i . e . the UN Global Goals that were agreed by world leaders in 2015 to make a better world by 2030 .
• NWG has a Code of Conduct which contains requirements such as minimum wage , working hours , prohibition of child labour and several other requirements from the ILO conventions and the UN Declaration of Human Rights . Suppliers are evaluated against these requirements .
• We have adopted the Code of Conduct from amfori BSCI ( Business Social Compliance initiative ), where NWG is a member . Amfori BSCI is a global initiative for companies committed to improve working conditions in the global supply chain . As a member of amfori BSCI , NWG are committed to implement and follow up the Code of Conduct by third party audits .
• NWG signed the original five year Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh ( 2013-2018 ) and later the 2018-2020 Transition Accord when the original agreement expired . In 2020 NWG also signed the succeeding International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry .
• NWG is a member of the Swedish Chemical Group . All suppliers must follow the requirements stated in our Restricted Substance List which has been designed in accordance with legislations such as REACH and other industry recommendations .
