Your Honorable Minister,
dear Executives, Officers, conventioneers ladies and gentlemen.
I would like to welcome and thank you all, for your presence and participation in the UASUV 2017 Med,
the 1st Unmanned aerial-surface-underwater Vehicles Technology Conference on behalf of our
company Zomidea Design & Services Ltd.
The Mediterranean Sea has always been a region of important developments, especially today in a
rapidly changing world.
Greece is a member of the EU and throughout its history, it has played an important role in the East
Mediterranean. It's a country quite rich in Air & Sea space with multiple scattered islands and 16.000
km of total coast line. There is also a strong academic-research community, a capable defense industry,
while major energy projects are underway or others under study. So for us, this was the ideal
environment to host this 1st UASUV 2017 Med.
UASUV 2017 Med aims to highlight the unmanned vehicles technology in all aspects and the major role
that it will play in the full transformation of working methods in almost all areas of human activity,
military and non-military, creating a meeting place for professionals, experts and other stakeholders to
exchange ideas on current as well as future requirements and solutions, particularly in the
Mediterranean region.
UASUV 2017 Med is organized under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence, General
Directorate for Defence Investments & Armaments, which from the first moment embraced our event
and for that, we are quite grateful. Incidentally, I would like to express my gratitude to our Alternative
Sponsor ISI HELLAS, as well as to the Israel Aerospace Industries and INTRACOM Defense Electronics,
who, with their Special Attendance helped in the achievement of this event.
Once again, I would like to welcome all of you and hope for a productive and beneficial Conference.
