I offer my sincerest felicitations and congratulate you on your Induction
Ceremony of the 2014- 2015 officers and new members of UAP Regional
District A5.
I am confident that the new sets of officers, with the help of the former
district leaders will direct and guide you to our objective to raise the bar of
professional excellence among our members.
We are gearing toward the progressive liberalization of trade in services
and ultimate removal of all barriers on regulatory restrictions in architectural
service trade in ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) in 2015 and
General Agreements on Trades and Services (GATS) in 2020. It is therefore a
strong challenge for us to engage into specialization to enable us to compete
with our international counterpart.
I would also ask you to extend full and unqualified support to our vital
goal for the full enforcement and implementation of RA9266 (Architecture
Act of 2004) and its derivative regulations, a valid and subsisting law. Let
nothing or no one weaken our resolve to strengthen and fortify our profession,
which is one of the oldest and most respected profession in the world.
Again, the PRBoA wishes for the success of all your undertakings.
