of Dr. Edward Partridge

Cancer Center magazine, Fall 1992
Cancer Center salutes Edward E. Partridge, M.D., director, UAB Division of
Gynecologic Oncology; associate director for community outreach research and
head, Gynecologic Oncology Program, UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, and
associate professor of gynecologic oncology, UAB Department of Obstetrics
and Gynecology. He received the B.S. degree (1969) from the University of Alabama and M.D. (1973) from the
School of Medicine at UAB, where he was chief resident in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellow in gynecologic
oncology. An American Cancer Society Clinical Fellow from 1977-78, he now serves on the ACS Metro and State
Boards. Dr. Partridge is a past president of both the Birmingham and Alabama Society of Clinical Oncology. He is
also the gynecologic oncology representative to the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons,
for which he also is state chair of the Alabama Division’s Cancer Liaison Program. A member of numerous UAB
Medical Center committees, he chairs the Community Outreach Committee, which is charged with coordinating
and evaluating cancer education and screening efforts for the Cancer Center.
