All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and may be designated for the cancer or research I am extremely proud to report that the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center recently received renewal of our Cancer Center Support Grant from the National Cancer Institute. This five-year, multimillion dollar grant renews our status as a “comprehensive” cancer center and further solidifies our position as a leader in the research and treatment of cancer. But while we often talk about being a “comprehensive” cancer center, many people do not know what that means. What makes a center comprehensive? What are the facts and figures behind that word? In this e-edition of UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center Magazine, we aim to answer those questions by giving you an in-depth look at the Cancer Center “by the numbers.” We hope this will give you an idea of what goes on behind the scenes at the Cancer Center and the work being done here. and staff, and I look forward to the many advances to come.
