I have a name for all these disowned, rejected, “lost” souls. It is not a new name and it is found in the legends and stories of many cultures all over the world. It is the “Children of the Rainbow” or the “Rainbow Warriors.” One of these stories goes something like this:

There will come a day when people of all races, colors, and beliefs will put aside their differences. They will join hands and unite as one in love to heal Mother Earth and all Her children. They will move all over the Earth like a Whirling Rainbow bringing Peace, Understanding, and Healing everywhere they go. Great spiritual teachers who have walked the Earth will return and walk among us once more, sharing their power and understanding with all. We will learn or Remember how to see and hear in a Sacred manner. Men and women will be equals in the way the Creator (GodDess) intended them to be and all children will be safe anywhere they want to go. Elders will be respected and valued for their wisdom. The entire Human race will be called “The People” and there will be no more war, sickness, or hunger forevermore.”- Navajo/Hopi Elders Prophecy

Many Rainbow Warriors chose very difficult families to be born into and extremely challenging life experiences. Their souls chose these experiences to transform what their ancestors could not find the strength or heart to do. They are like the mythological bird, the Phoenix, who self-combusts and rebirths out of its’ own ashes, even more beautiful than before. Growing pains are natural for us all but for the Rainbow Warriors in training they are most intense. They are like the cultural initiations into manhood and womanhood that our western culture has lost

leaving many lacking self-love, self-trust, and spiritually weak and disempowered. If you are wondering how your life seems to be so very “wrong” or feeling like an isolated victim in a cold, cruel world...take Heart, for in all our challenges lie the opportunities to find the Gifts we brought to this world. Also, Remember that you just may be a great Spiritual Rainbow Warrior in training. Practice is what makes us steady, strong, and Graceful...and only the strongest steel is forged from the hottest fire!!!

For those of you who did not or do not have parents that know how to love and care for you well and be models of what healthy, supportive humans are meant to be, I would like to remind you of the importance of loving and caring for yourself and others, especially those less fortunate. Remember to play for this is how we learn and always, always follow your heart and make your mind its’ trusty servant NOT the other way around. You are way more than enough! You are not just kids and teenagers...you are immortal souls, a pixel of GodDess, having a human experience...and many of you now are masters who have come to clean up this mess!!! So Dream GiNormously...fear nothing except the misuse of your own Power...Live from your Truth with Integrity...Never give up but surrender when wise to do so...and most of all Love, Love, Love with all your being for that is what you are made of!!!

I will leave you with one last instruction for the Rainbow Warriors from the Hopi Elders,”The time of the Lone Wolf is over, gather yourselves. Banish the words “suffering” and “struggle” from your attitude and vocabulary, for we are the Ones we have been waiting for.”
