I think who I am is still being discovered honestly. I have a lot of things and different views on my life, So when you hear my music you will hear smooth sounds that talk about my romance and love life. You will also hear my anger and my political views on the world as well as the struggle and hope that I want to shed to the communities and to the world for a better future.
If you meet me you will soon know that I’m highly energetic and humble at the same time. I am probably the goofiest but yet self aware person you would ever meet. I am very serious when it comes to me having success and having the people understand and like the person I have become. The people are the world to me and children are the absolute future to me. Smile and laughter inspire me and the kids that do not have much because growing up I didn’t have much either.
So my mission and what I hope to accomplish from my music is to ensure that there is a better future ahead for the kids and generations to come; also to be a positive role model for them. I one day want to be looked at as the kind of hero who is still looked at as an average person and actually care about people.
Honestly, I believe I became Ja’Di the artist because it was God’s work; which Ja’di is my real birth name. When I was 15 I remember this dream I had where I was talking to God and he said “Ja’Di keep making music in the secular world, they need guidance”. Then I woke up and all of a sudden I could freestyle and write music fast and still spread a positive message at the same time.
I knew it was a gift and that I was destined to do this. The kids in my community and the poverty I have seen growing up makes me work even harder. My mother’s passion and dedication to my sibling and myself have inspired me to be the best and to always fight for what I believe in; change!
Right now I’m still working on a couple of projects; one being an album being dropped summer 2014 and a mix tape is in the works for a release on my birthday March 31. I am pushing my single “The Big Picture” as well as working on several projects. My main focus is to give the people what they want and at the same time staying true to who I am.
I am also working on movements such as “SAOE-Star Addicts Over Everything” and “DG-Diverse and Gifted”. I am really just trying to brand myself and build my fan base up so that I can push my music and the movements. The people have to know me to love me and that is why I work so hard. I was told I’m a very likable guy and I believe it as well, so I want to get to know my personal side as well as my musical abilities.
When I look back I hope that I achieved my goals of impacting the youth and set up my very own youth development centers for the less fortunate children. I want to be able to sit down and tell my mother that I did what I was supposed to do in life. I want my music to last forever and want to be remembered for my vocal presences and my hands on work with people. I want everyone to know they can make it because it is a hard lesson learn if you are not taught as your growing up.
Being a positive role model is the most important thing I want to accomplish in the future. Most important of all is to thank God at the end and tell him thank you for allowing me to impact future generations with positivity and hope and giving “Ja’Di” a pure meaning.
