The Tygart Hotel is Woodlands Development Group ’ s largest and most ambitious project to date . Accustomed to developing housing projects and other community facilities , Woodlands took on the hotel development at the request of the local community . The goal of the project was to preserve the unique character of the Tygart , weave the redevelopment into the history of the region , and provide support for additional community and housing development .
Woodlands hopes that absorbing some of the risk of a commercial development of this size provides opportunities for growth and expansion to other property and business owners in the area . The project provided over 100 temporary and 57 permanent jobs .
DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION
We provide services to assist local downtown property owners make decisions about and kick-start projects to preserve and improve their buildings .
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Guided by communitydefined priorities , we take on housing projects that aren ’ t viable in the for-profit sector . We pursue projects that meet the needs of the community .
COMMUNITY FACILITIES
Through parks and greenspaces , trails , community gathering space , and art and cultural opportunities , we work to connect community groups to resources to help their age-old wishes come true and to respond to the developing needs of our ever-evolving communities .
