The Tygart Hotel was constructed in 1906 originally serving the timber and railroad industry . During your visit , please take time to view the Lost Town Art displayed throughout the lobby & upper floors of the hotel . This initiative is a collaboration with local West Virginia artists who have created artwork exploring five ghost towns nearby in the Monongahela National Forest .
