tyddynmon.co.uk How we transformed the Garden By Meirionfa Several months ago all the tenants agreed in a tenant’s meeting that we would work together with the support of staff to transform our garden. When the weather improved the hard work began. The first task was to clear the garden of all the overgrown shrubs and weeds. We also knocked down the old wooden shed and Joe and Mickey helped staff to dispose of it. Everyone joined in to help paint the wooden fence and Mickey painted the garden wall. Everyone chose plants and flowers to plant. With staff support we chose plants that do not need too much looking after and flowers that will attract butterflies to our garden. Lucy found a bird box in the shrubs which Mickey had made for her and she painted it ready to hang up. Glenys and Mark have been busy planting the pots and watering them in the evenings. After all the hard work we are looking forward to enjoying our beautiful garden! Chips and Mayonnaise By Penri Davies I went on holiday to Brugge/ Bruges. I was happy to have a front seat on the coach. The driver’s name was Rich. The coach went on the train in the channel tunnel. In Bruges I went on a boat trip on the canal on a sunny day. I also rode in one of the five horses and carriages. When it was raining I went to shops, museums, restaurants, a nun’s village, churches, on a tour of a brewery with steep stairs and drank beer at the end. At Martin’s hotel I had buffet breakfast’s, went in the lifts, drank Belgian hot chocolate and coffee and played Scrabble in the bar. I liked Bruges, I like Belgian food, stew, steak, lasagne, chocolate, waffles, ice creams, and chips with mayonnaise. I walked on the cobbles for miles. I saw a lot of bikes everywhere with bells ringing. One bike skidded and nearly crashed into our horse and carriage. Tyddyn Môn Newsletter 9 Issue 4 - June, July & August 2015
