Pottery Sessions
Over the last few weeks a number of
the trainees have been taking part in
pottery sessions every Thursday and
Friday with Richard Daniels, a
professional potter who has been
teaching the trainees to make a
number of items including mugs,
necklaces, pots, bowls and many other
pieces. They have recently been
experimenting with a number of
different glazes and moulds to create
new and different designs. The aim of
the sessions are to teach the trainees
new skills whilst doing something that
is both fun and engaging. Some of the
items made by the trainees are now
available to buy in the tearoom at
Tyddyn Môn or at the upcoming
Summer Fair and Folk on the Farm
Festival.
Cafe Cooking Lessons
A few of trainees have recently begun
cooking lessons run by Sochyn Crimp in the
cafe at Tyddyn Môn. They have been
learning to make a number of items
including cakes and pancakes and will learn
to make more and increase their cooking
skills in upcoming lessons. Many of the
trainees have showed an interest in taking
part in the lessons and will be afforded the
opportunity in the coming weeks.

Bench for Ysgol Parc Y Bont
The trainees have recently
supported members of staff to make
and paint a bench for Ysgol Parc Y
Bont, Llanddaniel. The bench was
ordered by the school and made to
their specifications by staff in the
Tyddyn Môn workshop with the help
of some of the trainees, it is hoped
the trainees will learn valuable skills
from assisting in woodworking
projects such as this. If you would
like a bench made for you please
get in touch for more details.
