The Syndic8
National Technology Final
Syndic8 is a fabulous new programme set up to
inspire students to learn more about the world of
technology and engineering. They hosted their first
ever National Finals in Dublin on 16 May 2018, an
event that showcased what students had achieved
through the F1 in Schools, RC Rallying and Drone
Racing competitions.
The day was all about cutting edge technology
(literally) and involved a lot of last minute changes,
repairs and some very serious hard work. It was
fitting that the inaugural event was held in the
historic walls of The Royal Kilmainham Hospital, an
institution renowned as a leader in science in its day.
F1 in Schools national champions Autovinco from
St. Brigid's College Loughrea will be representing
Ireland in Singapore at the F1 in School World
Championships.
Also travelling to Singapore are second place
winners with the Best Engineered car are
FM1 racing who hail from Sutton Park School.
Spectators were able to share in the excitement,
watching the teams compete to win the ultimate prize;
representing Ireland at the “F1 in Schools
Championship” in Singapore.
It was also really interesting for students to meet
some of the industry leaders that that were there to
showcase their technology. These insights offered
them a glimpse into the technologies that drive our
world.
In third place also from St. Brigid's College
Loughrea were Imperium Racing.
