GLASNEVIN CEMETRY MUSEUM GLOBAL ACTION PLAN HABITAT FOR HUMANITY A national initiative that aims to maximise the number of people participating in walking - for health, wellbeing and fitness - throughout Ireland. Learn about the events and personalities that shaped the course of Irish history through guided tours of the cemetery. ! Tour guiding programme: an excellent opportunity for students to develop skills of research, writing & public speaking while exploring the history of 19th &20th Century Ireland in a challenging, practical & fun way. It is crucial that young people become champions of the Sustainable Development Goals. GAP visit each school facilitating global citizenship and environmental workshops enabling each TY student to grow more skilled in evaluating the ethics & impacts of their decisions. ! We build houses with people. We work together with homeowners and volunteers to construct, renovate, or refurbish homes using donations of m o n e y, l a n d a n d materials. Once completed, houses are sold to partner families at below market cost, providing a hand up rather than a hand out. Walking lifts your spirits, get active, or for spending quality time with friends and family. ! World War Experience. The ISSU provides a transparent, democratic and reliable organisation by supporting student voice. An all- Ireland competition for teams of 2-3 students that involves analysis, interpretation and communication of statistics or statistical information. ! Healthy Ireland aims to create an Ireland where health and wellbeing is valued and supported and on everyone’s agenda in a meaningful way. ! ! Students will have the opportunity to tour the museum with a guide, receive a workshop from an award-winning historian, handle original weapons and equipment, visit a replica WW1 trench, watch a blank-firing weapons display with period weapons, and ride in a tank!! ! Three different school tour packages available. ! ! The ISSU works with providing support, training and assistance to second- level Student Council’s. !
