… to the March 2017 edition of TY UPDATE .

It ’ s been a busy start to the year with 2 months down already ….!

In January we hosted a very interesting and well attended seminar “ Reaching TY ” at the CHQ building in Dublin ( see pg . 22 ). This event focused on the crucial yet often overlooked external service providers .

In February we recorded our new Mini-series called “ Demystifying TY ” ( pg . 32 ), and are in the process of releasing these episodes over a period of weeks ( the first 4 episodes are available- see our website ). The series comprises interviews with key role-players in Transition Year and aims to inform parents

About TY Update ! TY Update is a quarterly publication by TYI ( Transition Year Ireland ). The magazine is sent to Principals , Guidance Counsellors and TY Coordinators at all schools that offer TY . The extended circulation includes parents , external service providers and other interested parties . extended ! About the Editor ! Edwin Landzaad has over 10 years experience in 3rd level education as Lecturer , Head of Department and Head of School ( Architecture ). He has a strong interest in In - Service Learning and is co- founder of Transition Year Ireland

In other news , the TY EXPO 2017 is beginning to take shape . GAISCE will once again be hosting the “ Teachers Lounge ” at the event and we ’ re working together with GAISCE to explore new opportunities together .

We also have the NPCpp ( National Parents Council post primary ) on board this year ( see pg . 32 ). With our focus to extend an invitation to parents , NPCpp will play a pivotal role and have generously agreed to host the newly added “ Parent ’ s Lounge ”. Parents please join us on the day and visit the NPCpp lounge for a cup of coffee and a chat .

We ’ re looking forward to the IGC ( Institute of Guidance Counsellors )’ s National Conference in Cork in March . With 500 Guidance Counsellors registered and a super line-up it promises to be a good one .
