CEO Alterna TV
What have been the results since your appointment as
CEO in Alterna TV?
In the months since joining Alterna’TV, my immediate focus was to create a distribution team that had both the expertise and relationships necessary to ensure the greatest
benefits in building and expanding our clients’ programming reach. With the addition of Leonardo J Pinto as Latin
America Marketing and Distribution Director, and Roberto
Perez as Senior Director, Marketing and Distribution for the
United States, Canada and Mexico, Alterna’TV is now ideally positioned and has a formidable team, with first-hand
knowledge and experience in the most sought after consumer markets in the world, and 2015 is going to be a great
year for us and our clients. Also, we have decided to improve the efficiency of the satellite platform through which
we are delivering our channels to commercial distributors
on the ground, moving from a US domestic coverage of
our main platform on EUT113 West A to a pan-american
coverage, enabling our channels to reach more than 25
countries and a potential of more than 150 million pay-TV
households with one single video feed.
What is the programming offered by Alterna and what
type of programming are they looking for?
Alterna’TV offers a wide variety of distinct, diverse and culturally relevant programming services spanning all demographic groups and ethnicities and with a special emphasis
on engaging content that speaks to today’s young adult
and Latino consumers. And because Alterna’TV looks to
complement the existing reach and current offers of individual media distribution platforms, we’re able to successfully introduce and sustain an array of appealing and
relevant branded content feeds. We are proud to say that
we are in in the closing stages of negotiation with several
channels and content providers that we will be bringing to
the US and Latin American in 2015. We will be announcing
that very soon.

What are the plans and strategies this 2015 in Latin
America and in the United States?
My goals, and those of Alterna’TV, can be summarized
in three points.
First, Alterna’TV will continue its commitment to its
Latino programming services - Once TV Mexico, Latin
American Sports, AYM Sports, Trace Sports Stars, CB Tu
Television Michoacan, Canal 22 Internacional, Ecuavisa,
INTI Network, PXTV and Telemicro -- to work collaboratively on their behalf with distribution platforms in the
U.S., including DISH, DirecTV, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Verizon Fios, AT&T U-Verse, Charter and RCN as well
as MegaCable, UNE and others, to deliver their unique
and culturally relevant content to the growing Latino
communities in the United States while also looking to
build their carriage, reach and relevancy throughout
Latin America.
Second, Alterna’TV is dedicated to sourcing popular and
distinct entertainment channels from around the globe
for introduction to consumers throughout Latin America
and the U.S. and third, expand Alterna’TV’s distribution
operation to make its cache of Latin American channels
available in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
