Well, at least you’re not procrastinating on solving your procrastination problem! Procrastination can feel suffocating at times, but it’s definitely a solvable issue. Try these tips:

1.)Make To-Do Lists

This may sound like an overly simplistic fix, but it can be very helpful. When you get home from school, make a list of all the things you have to do. Copy your homework over from where you’ve recorded it in your homework diary, and add any other non-school related commitments you have to do. Chances the satisfaction of crossing things of the list will motivate you to get things done and help you beat procrastination! Not to mention, it organizes your commitments.

2.)Set Time Limits

This is one of the most essential procrastination tips. On your To-Do list, try setting a time limit for each homework or activity. For example: (Math Homework-40 min). Then set a timer when you start each activity. This may seem tedious, but it’s a great way to break the habit for two reasons. Firstly, it helps you realize the quantity of the homework you have (when you add up the total amount of homework time, you fully comprehend that you really should get started ASAP). Secondly, it keeps you from getting distracted once you start your homework, because you know you have a time limit to adhere to.

3.)Get Busy!

As counter-intuitive as this may seem, the busier you are, the more focused you become. Having evening activities planned can actually help you work efficiently. Try getting involved with one of ISF’s many clubs or sports teams, for example.

4.)Prioritize

On your to do list, rank your homework assignments in order of difficulty and importance. If you’re wondering how to start, think of the assignments you’re dreading the most (because those are the ones you’re most likely to procrastinate doing!). This method will force you to face and finish your most stressful assignments first. Once the worst is over with, the rest will seem like a breeze.

I have no doubt that these tips will help you solve your procrastination problems once and for all. Best of luck!
