EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SPECIAL EVENTS MONTHLY EVENTS ECE Curriculum Day Manic Mondays Wednesday, September 27, 6 – 7 pm Here at The J’s ECE we are working on creating a foundation of learning from the very beginning.  Building children’s social and emotional qualities are just as important as the early understanding of physics and literature appreciation.  Experience our curriculum with us during our annual curriculum night. ECE discover CATCH Field Day Wednesday, October 25, 9 am – Noon Each age group will have a selected time slot to demonstrate discover CATCH activities. The classrooms collaborate, plan and carry out age-appropriate physical activities such as games, obstacle courses, or music and movement with the children. All of the parents are invited to join in the play and see what their child does relating to health and wellness in our program. Snack included! Grassy Area Lunch Five for Five Sunday, November 12, 6 – 7:30 pm Parents can prepare and pack five nutrient-enriched lunches covering the five basic food group categories - a dairy, a grain, a fruit, a vegetable and a protein. Instead of having to go out and buy a bunch of pre-packaged sugar enriched items, due to time constraints in your busy lives, you can share and receive fantastic ideas for making healthy eating fun for everyone in your own homes! $35 Demo Kitchen ECE Annual Winter Fundraiser Saturday, December 2, Cocktails at 6:30 pm, Program at 7 pm The one and only FUN ECE fundraiser of the year! This year’s event is for adults only. 100% of the proceeds go directly to support the great work of The J’s teachers and programs. More details to be announced! 19 | TUCSON J 1st Monday of each month, 7 – 9 am Muffins & coffee on the run! We know Monday mornings can be hectic. Parents - don’t skip your breakfast! We know how important it is to start the day right. Grab a bite to eat with the ECE Directors the 1 st Monday of the month starting August 14 h . Muffins, fresh fruit and coffee to fuel your busy day. Bring your coffee go-cup! Very Important Produce (VIP) Exposition 3 rd Friday of each month, 4 – 5:30 pm This is a cooking demonstration for parents and children are invited to attend. Each month the classrooms vote on what they want the VIP to be next month. A fun way to connect home and school, grab a snack and open up dialogue surrounding colorful foods. The recipe is usually simple and available to take home and try in your own kitchens! Learn. Laugh. Grow. Nurturing your child to prepare them for life. The J’s ECE is more than a daycare.
