It’s not easy deciding how to spend your
summer. There are many things that go
into planning the perfect summer for
you and your child(ren). There are so
many options today for your children’s
time between vacations, summer
school, swim teams, and sports
practices. So why send your child(ren)
to summer camp?
Camp is an intentional experience
that can shape one’s character by
providing a controlled and safe
environment for them to make their
own decisions and make their own mistakes.
At camp kids can interact face-to-face while nurturing and enthusiastic
counselors are dedicated to showing them how to make friends in person rather
than online. Not only will campers learn about others but they will also learn about
themselves. The character traits parents wish for their kids to obtain such as
independence, confidence, resilience, relationship-building, and grit-all are legitimate
outcomes for children who have successful camp experiences. A place where fantasy
can become reality - there is truly something magical about the summer camp
experience.
Camp J at the Tucson JCC provides the safe and supportive environment where every
camper will discover and learn. Summers with the Tucson JCC are a time for growth,
and all of our programs and staff are focused on making a difference in the life of
each camper. Our camps challenge each child and build confidence while creating a
strong sense of community. Whether it’s the silly story their counselor told them, the
new friends your child will make, or the first time they won a game of Ga-Ga, every
camper will come home with new stories about the adventure at camp.
