ASMAG GmbH has announced that it has further developed its’ Continuous Rotary Extrusion (CRE) technology to stay ahead of the ever-increasing demands of the global market. Having listened to application demands and worked with its customers to meet their expectations, ASMAG has successfully delivered ASCON CRE equipment for the production of copper busbars and profiles, and has further extended the equipment capability to surpass current market requirements. Copper product sizes that can be produced by the range of equipment have been increased, and the width to thickness (aspect) ratio is now almost 30, that means close to double the industry standard. In addition, ASMAG has developed a number of lines specifically for the production of aluminium products, such as solid profiles and sectors, precision round and multi-void tubes, all of which are proving to be growth applications for the company. ASCON CRE technology has also been instrumental in the extrusion of new complex products using aluminium and copper. The ASCON range of CRE equipment has been developed with a design emphasis on high quality, precision engineered equipment using in-house manufacturing capability, also encompassing excellent user experience to ensure that the equipment is both easy to operate and maintain. With cost of ownership and productivity as the primary drivers in production businesses around the globe, extrusion wheel changes can be completed in under 30 minutes. This advancement alone considerably improves on the current industry standard of 2 to 8 hours, significantly increasing potential yield and production capability. ASMAG now offers 3 standard CRE machines in its ASCON range; the ASCON-3, ASCON-4 and ASCON-5, all of which meet relevant international standards and can be bespoke designed to meet customer defined application requirements. Contrary to the general trend full design, manufacture, assembly and pre-shipment testing is undertaken at the company’s purpose built facilities at its headquarters in Scharnstein, Austria. ASCON CRE equipment is utilised in the wire, cable, tube and busbar markets. Visit us at Wire & Tube Dusseldorf in April 2016 in Hall 6, A02, Hall 9, C06, or at www.asmag.at.
