subscriber Gail Nyreen and her daughter Gina of Bothell, WA enjoyed their
magazine and the pool at the Palm
Springs Tennis Club in California
time. There are hotel carts in the parking
areas to get stuff to the room. Our room
was easy to get to and included a very
modern, spacious kitchen with everything
we could think we might need, including a
dishwasher.
There was a great little entry area, with
space for ski stuff, as this is a big ski area
in the winter. Right by the entryway was a
closet with a washer and dryer. The resort
included a packet with soap, some snack
goodies, coffee and plenty of soap for the
dishwasher and the bathrooms. The bathroom was divided into two sections. The
first section had a sink, large shower and
toilet. The second section held a sink and
large soaking tub. The second section had
a partial wall to separate it from the bedroom.
The bedroom held a king-sized bed,
easy chair, dresser, large TV and a closet.
The living room/dining room consisted of
a bench with dining table and four chairs
by the partial kitchen wall, sofa, two easy
chairs, end tables, fireplace, TV, video and
CD players and a large bank of windows.
The ceilings were very high and there was
great lighting.
They told us that the view wasn’t the
premier view because it faced the mountain, but we loved the privacy. Redecorating is also on the schedule, but we thought
everything looked great. The resort is built
on the location of an old mine, and they
have made it look somewhat like a big mine
on the side of a hill.
There is also a Marriott in Downtown
Park City (Summit Lodge), and it looked
very nice. There are many restaurants,
shops and such in the mini village they’ve
created on site. One could ski right out of
the resort to the chair lift. In the summer,
people can ride the chair lift up to the top
and bike around the area, ride horses
around the mountain, ride the zip line
down, slide down on a mini bobsled type
run or ride the chairlift back down. There
are all day family passes available. There
is also a trampoline set up with safety harnesses and a game area by the chairlift
Inside the resort, is a little mini market, a wonderful two story game and TV
area, a recreation director, meeting rooms
and an outdoor swimming area with several hot tubs. Bar-B-ques are also available.
There is an amazing variety of activities and special things to do. We signed
up to watch the movie on the history of
Park City and to tour the Olympic Park.
The concierge left a message on the
phones each day with a review of what
was going on and a reminder of the coupons in the local paper. The resort seems
to be especially family and kid friendly. In
addition, the front desk had all of the tourist booklets with special deals. We drove
down to historic Main Street in Park City
to shop and sight see, but there is a shuttle
available.
We also drove to Heber city to look
around and ride the “Heber Creeper”, an
old train. There are several options for
trips and we chose the trip to Provo Canyon. It was a great ride and wonderful scenery. One day, we drove up in the Unita
Mountains to see the scenery and mountain lakes, and we spent another day driving the area around Park City.
We ended up agreeing to listen to
three timeshare presentations for some
great gifts. Part of one gift was a set of
tickets to ride the Olympic Bobsled run.
What a rush for two old, fat people! We
felt safe, but it is certainly way bey ۙ
