Impact on timesharing
Timeshare owners across the globe are stakeholders in resorts that have been damaged or destroyed — perhaps permanently — by Fiona and Ian . We have strong emotional , experiential , and financial ties to the destinations , resorts , and people making up our timeshare community . Our homes away from home may be lost forever . Our short-term vacation plans are certainly on indefinite hold .
We now have to wait for the damage assessments and how the industry providers serving the timeshare industry will respond to the issues at hand and the new challenges that surely will emerge . These efforts will take time , so we must be patient .
TimeSharing Today will provide details through its printed edition , eNewsletters , and website https :// tbmassoc . org . The Timeshare Board Members Association ( TBMA ) will focus on the resources and solutions available through its sponsors and the proactive boards of directors and resort managers who support our industry .
Light a candle
We continually learn life ’ s lessons about the spirit of community . We reach out to neighbors and strangers with expressions of hope and caring . After a disaster , tens of thousands from across the country volunteer their skills to help restore a sense of normal .
Also , support those who are coping with the pain and losses they must endure . Let ’ s join together , as a community , to assist in whatever possible way .
Please tell us about your experiences during these most devastating times . We invite articles of up to 750 words , and images of at least 250 KB , to staff @ tstoday , com with a copy to gltstoday @ gmail . com . Our next copy deadline is November 15 , 2022 , for the January- February 2023 issue . If you ’ re reading this by candlelight because your power is still out after Ian , the following copy deadline is January 15 for the March- April 2023 issue .
