ALL THE BEST JOHN!
What is your favourite memory from Ad
Ops? (Sam)
There are so many to choose from! But I think
I’m going to go with our Christmas card entry
from 2016. Even now if I’m having a dark day, I
look at Yann dressed as my cat and it
immediately makes me cackle.
What CM skill will be most helpful to you in
your new role? (Alex)
I think having such a solid grounding in
Campaign Manager Tool will be a huge
advantage that a lot of Account Managers
don’t have, and will allow me to [hopefully]
ramp up quickly to passing on best practices
onto clients. Having been part of Optimize
Prime will also be a great help when I have to
talk knowledgeably about SU best practice!
Do you have any advice for an Ad Ops new
hire? (Jennifer)
Measure twice, cut once! Consistently double
and triple checking work isn’t something that
comes naturally to me, but it’s so important
when we’re setting up complex campaigns, to
minimise errors and make goods.
What do you think the biggest difference
between working in Ad Ops and Solutions
will be? (Robin)
There are obviously lots to choose from, but I
think the single biggest difference is what
success looks like. Moving to targets being
driven by revenue goals for the region versus
SLAs is going to require a big change of
mindset.
Will you ever beat your planking record of 2
minutes? (Gary)
One day Gary! I’ve actually never tried because
I read somewhere that if you can plank for 2
minutes then you should mix it up and do
more challenging plank exercises [1-arm, side
plank etc], but if you’re going to be inspired by
it, I’ll give it a go next time we’re in the gym.
If you could meet the Queen of England
what would you ask her? (Puck)
I wasn’t going to write such a specific answer,
but Puck convinced me to go for it. I just read
the autobiography of this really sweet relative
of the Queen’s who died in the 1950s but who
lived through both wars and saw a lot of
interesting stuff first hand. I would probably
ask what memories the Queen had of her.
What are you looking forward to most in
your new role? (Valentina)
It’s a very specific role, with one central goal of
increasing SU utilization in Sweden, and I
think it’s going to be good for someone as...
single minded as I am.
What advice would you give to someone
moving internally (Diana)
One word: persistence! And to echo Enya’s
core message from the CPP roadshow,
consistency. If you’ve got a specific team that
you’re interested in joining, let them know,
and be persistent and consistent in showing
that firstly you’re a good fit, but also that they
fit into your long term career plan.
If you could be one CM for a day who would
you be and why? (Andrea)
Definitely Andrea! Then I could go home and
play with Suki the labrador for the whole
evening!
What will you miss the most from being an
LTS AdOps CM? (Andrea)
The craic! For those of you outside of Ireland,
that means the banter. But I’m happy in
knowing that I’m not moving that far away, so
hopefully the guys will still feel able to pick on
me from time to time.
