WHAT CHOICE IS BEFORE YOU RIGHT NOW?
T
A
LIFE IS ABOUT CHOICE
he choice we make today is
the life we will live tomorrow,
don’t be fooled by making
easy choices because it is comfortable at the time.
You may just be preparing yourself
for pain and misery in the future
both now on earth and eternity after death.
The first man and woman in the
Garden of Eden fell prey to this
when they had the opportunity to
make the most important choice
of their life.
Unfortunately, they chose the latter.
They made the wrong choice because at the time it was more comfortable and appealing to do so.
The woman was convinced. She
saw that the tree was beautiful
and its fruit looked delicious,
and she wanted the wisdom
it would give her. So she took
some of the fruit and ate it. Then
she gave some to her husband,
who was with her, and he ate it,
too. Gen 3:6
The real test before them, like any
of us, was either obey God or disobey Him and believe Satan’s lie.
s you contemplate that decision, I want you to think
about it, is it right because
it is comfortable, and is it right
because it feels good to you, without minding the impact on others
around you or its implication later
on in your life?
One of the most important reasons
we should consider in our choices
is that they don’t only impact us
now; they have a profound impact
on our generation as well as our
eternal future.
One woman in the bible who
made a difficult but right call was
Ruth. Her right choice earned her a
lasting legacy being part of Jesus’
heritage as the great grandmother
of David despite not being Jew.
Don’t just give up standing for
what is right because it’s difficult.

No discipline is enjoyable while it
is happening - it’s painful! But afterwards there will be a peaceful
harvest of right living for those
who are trained in this way. – Heb
12:11
Basically, the benefit outweighs
the pain of the sacrifice, as the
Psalmist rightly captures this truth
in Psalms 112:1-3 Praise the Lord!
How joyful are those who fear the
Lord and delight in obeying his
commands.
Their children will be successful
everywhere; an entire generatio
