OW Football News 18 OW footballers visited Winchester on 10 th August to take part in the Harry Cripps six-a-side tournament . Harry Cripps made 400 appearances for Millwall as well as turning out for West Ham and Charlton . After his playing career , he moved to coaching , which , for a time , included Winchester College . It was extremely fitting that on the day , we had an OW who had played under his tutelage .
Three teams of six were ready to put their summer shenanigans behind them in the name of fluid football .
We were particularly pleased to welcome two recent leavers ( Fergus Brant ( B , 18- 23 ) and Alex Harker ( I , 19-24 )) to the OWFC fold .

The weather put paid to any significant play in the two games at Wykeham Day . The cricket highlight of the day was a presentation to Bill Holland on his retirement as a playing member of the Club . He departs in the face of protestation and his dependable runs and safe hands at slip will be sorely missed .
I Zingari wrought havoc in our batting line up , and despite a counterattacking 61 from Rollo Quinault ( H , 11-16 ), OWCC were floundering at 91-9 . Even a final wicket stand that dragged us to 139 was not enough and IZ closed out the game with four wickets to spare .
Aaron Hockey ( G , 20-24 ) had only just become an eligible player when he made his debut against The Free Foresters on the day after Domum . He made quite an impact , with figures of 2 for 14
