He married ( 1 ) Prudence Watson in 1971 ( marriage dissolved 1983 ) and ( 2 ) Ayako Futatsumori , who survives him together with his 2 daughters and 2 sons .
Oliver Crewdson Howard ( F , 61-66 ); died 24.7.2022 . Son of JCH , Junior Under Officer Mons OCS , 1968 10th Royal Hussars ( PWO ), retiring as Major . Partnership Secretary , MacIntyre & Co , 1996- 2002 . Member , Her Majesty ’ s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms 2000 . Trustee , The Clothworkers ’ Foundation . He married Laura Thompson-Royds in 2004 .
John ( Johnny ) Kenneth Andrew Gibbs ( I , 62-67 ); died 2.10.2022 . Son of AAG , brother of AFG and father of SAMG ; third generation of Wykehamists . FCA . He joined Finnie , Ross , Welch & Co , London in 1970 , moving to Deloittes , Nairobi in 1974 . He then worked for Lonrho , Nairobi , 1976 ; Balfour , Williamson & Co . Ltd , 1980 , becoming a director in 1988 ; and as a director of Intramar Ltd , a consultancy for Oman International Group , a facilities management company , in 1997 . He resigned as a director in 2014 , staying on as a consultant to OIG until 2018 . A very active and generous member of his local community , not least as treasurer for his wider benefice and secretary to his PCC ( Batcombe in Dorset ), he was devoted to his family and was passionate about cricket , shooting , his home , the countryside and his Labradors . ‘ He was noted for his quiet decency and mischievous sense of humour .’ He married Julia Edwards in 1978 , who survives him together with their 2 daughters and son .
Martin Charles Richardson ( K , 63-67 ); died 14.7.2022 . Queen ’ s University Belfast , Econ Psych Phil , BSc 1971 ; President of Fishing Society . He worked as a management consultant in the International Food Industry . He married Jill Sinclair in 1977 , who survives him .
Stephen Seppings Burne ( G , 64-68 ); died 12.5.2022 . Son of CJSB , 4th generation of Wykehamists , father to son . Corpus Christi College Cambridge , Seaman Scholarship for Engineering in the Nat Sciences , 2 ( 1 ) Nat Sci 1973 . He was a retired hydrologist having worked for many years at Imperial College and then moved to Zahara de la Sierra , Spain . He is survived by his wife and 2 daughters and a son .
Edward Remington-Hobbs ( E , 68-72 ); died 14.7.2022 . Brother of JR-H . Squash ( Capt ). He worked for Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt 1972-79 ; Warburg Investment Management 1979-80 ; James Capel 1980-82 ; Baring Asset Management 1982-2006 ; and Lazard Asset Management 2007-16 . He loved golf and bicycling ; he was a very keen shot and had a number of working dogs : he had a small farm in Suffolk and took huge interest in it as well as being a very enthusiastic gardener . He also had a number of vintage cars ( including a Bentley ). He married ( 1 ) Amanda and ( 2 ) Karen Ackroyd in 2022 , who survives him together with 2 stepchildren .
David James Seal ( C , 72-74 ); died 26.12.2021 . Represented GB twice in International Maths Olympiad . Corpus Christi College , Cambridge BA Maths 1978 , MA , further study of Maths 1978-83 . He worked for Acorn Computers 1983-90 ; and then became a founder employee of Advanced RISC Machines Ltd , later ARM Holdings plc , 1990-2010 , whose chips designs went on to dominate the mobile / portable device industry . After this he studied and researched in Maths . He is described by his colleagues as a towering intellect and engineer , a dynamic and instrumental force in ARM ’ s early years and a profoundly kind person and mentor . He read very widely and took a keen interest in the sciences , in wildlife and in environmental issues , as well as supporting many humanitarian and charitable causes . He is also credited with some of early work in solving the Rubik ’ s Cube . Publication : ARM Architecture Reference Manual , 2nd edition , 2001 .
Robert Bradlick Edyvean ( Coll , 73-75 ); died 21.9.2022 . Queen ’ s College Oxford 1977-80 , Cl Mod , Lit Hum , BA . He worked for United International Pictures as a future technology group leader . He then became an independent IT Consultant , specialising in Technical Architecture and Business Intelligence , with Varesseti Ltd 2010- 17 , Danone Early Life Nutrition 2017 and Waldemar Consultants Ltd 2013-20 . From 2019-22 he helped to develop a medical communications app , DocCom . A keen golfer and tennis player .
