Robert Sackville-West ( F , 71-75 ) writes : In January 2022 I took up the chairmanship of the Kent Community Foundation . In July 2002 , I was appointed as a Commissioner for Historic England .
Dara Olufon ( E , 00-05 ) reports that he has been elected a Partner at McKinsey & Company . He focuses on helping oil & gas executives and financial investors across the globe navigate strategy , sustainability and transformation relating to the energy transition .
Daniel Sokol ’ s ( D , 92-97 ) appointment as the next President of the Osler Club of London was announced in November and he will take up his post in July 2023 . It is a medical society founded in 1928 in memory of the great physician Sir William Osler , whose only son ( Edward Revere Osler , ( C , 10-12 )) attended Winchester College but sadly died in WW1 in 1917 . Daniel is not the first Wykehamist to hold the post . Harvey White ( G , 49- 54 ), a surgeon and founder member of OW Med Soc , was president of the Osler Club 1986-87 .
Charles Howard ( E , 50-55 ) reports : Richard Clewer ( E 87-92 ) was appointed Leader of Wiltshire Council having served in various appointments as a Councillor since 2009 .
James Ganendra ( H , 10-15 ) writes : In December 2022 I was presented with the “ Outstanding Leaders Award ” by the Jardine Matheson Foundation for significant contributions to the climate change topic .

As part of the award application process , James wrote ‘ I was an early member of the Boston Consulting Group ’ s ( BCG ) South East Asia Climate Practice , and have worked on multiple themes in this space . Examples of my work in this area include developing a Regional Carbon Capture & Storage strategy for an International Oil Company , shaping a Net Zero Roadmap for a National Utility and formulating a National Energy Policy . However , a particularly rewarding project was working on the WWF- BCG study to advocate potential pathways for Malaysia to achieve Net Zero status .
Piers Litherland ( A , 69-74 ) has been leading a team of archaeologists in Egypt that has discovered a 3,500-year-old tomb in a necropolis near the Valley of the Kings and in Luxor . He is the head of the New Kingdom Research Foundation , working with the Supreme Council of Antiquities , in Cairo . The recently uncovered tomb , ‘ probably belonged to one of the royal wives or princesses during the period of Thutmosid rule ’.
