Stories that are shortened to fit the Trusty Servant will sometimes be published in full on the Win Coll Soc website. This particularly applies when there is a large gallery of photographs that cannot be published in print.
The Trust e-Servant
If you don’ t already read or receive the e-Servant, it is a fortnightly email published on a Friday. Most of our forthcoming events will be advertised in the e-Servant, targeted invitations being the exception.
We are always happy to include interesting or intriguing stories that have a connection to Win Coll. News for publication and any responses to previously-published editions should go to wincollsoc @ wincoll. ac. uk
Many of the stories, in particular some From the Archives, are permanently published under the News and Archives website tab.
Visiting Win Coll Escorted Access Only
Access to the College for Old Wykehamists is still encouraged, but even OWs cannot visit unescorted while pupils are in residence. If you want to visit your old school other than for an organised event, we ask you to observe the following:
• Give Win Coll Soc as much notice as possible of your visit. A week or more is ideal. We have some reserved places on guided tours( twice daily) if no guide or other escort is available.
• Visitor access is via the Porter’ s Lodge only.
• If you arrive at the Porter’ s Lodge unannounced, we will still try to accommodate your visit, but should nobody be available as an escort, and guided tours are full, you might be refused entry.
Exeats, Leave-outs and holidays are generally better times to visit, but the same restrictions outlined above will apply if there are students in the College for summer school.
Please don’ t forget that evensong on Tuesdays in term time and the School Lecture Programme, which we will advertise through the Trust e-Servant.
When events take place in the College, please assist our security team by only using designated points of access and departure( usually Porters’ Lodge or Black Gate beside New Hall). Thank you all for your support.
