Awards In July 2025 Edmund Tirbutt( K, 70-75) was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the British Insurance Brokers’ Association( BIBA) and an Outstanding Achievement Award from Headlinemoney. These are the highest possible accolades at both the major financial journalist awards events.

James Ganendra( H, 10-15) CEng has been elected a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London( FLS), the world’ s oldest active biological society and the historic stage for Darwin and Wallace’ s first presentation of the theory of evolution. He is one of the youngest to receive this honour, and one of the few Malaysians to do so. James was recognised for his work at the intersection of climate change, sustainability, and conservation. A chartered engineer with international experience across Europe and Southeast Asia, he advises governments and corporations on Net Zero targets, lowcarbon infrastructure, and policies that link environmental protection with the energy transition.

Medical News Richard Marigold( K, 89-94) writes: Dr JRG Marigold is a Consultant Stroke Physician and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at University Hospital Southampton. He set up the NIHR Hyperacute Stroke Research Centre recruiting patients into clinical trials of new treatments within 12hrs of symptom onset to limit brain damage. He recently led Southampton to become one of the first centres in the UK to offer 24 / 7 mechanical thrombectomy, a groundbreaking surgical procedure that removes large blood clots from occluded arteries, restores blood flow and significantly reduces neurological disability.

This book, updated every four years, is the reference standard for glaucoma care across Europe and beyond. Publications James Brown( G, 96-01) has published three books, starting with Practising Wood in Architecture: Connecting Design, Construction and Sustainability, which is co-authored by his postdoctoral research student, Francesco Camilli. It explores how architecture students are learning to build with wood and interrogates the consequences for architectural practice. Based on original research conducted over two years, the book explores innovative projects that use wood in China, England, Finland, Germany, Mongolia, South Africa and Switzerland. These case studies demonstrate the many advantages of wood, including its simplicity of use, its affordability and its sustainability.
