’ve become a bit of a dinner
party bore as I have taken an
increasing interest in retirement
savings. I’ve been asking people
what they’re doing about it and
have been surprised to find that
most are just not interested. Many
say that it’s too far away and that
they have better things to spend
their money on. Or they have
property. Or are planning to live
fast and die young. Friends are
starting to avoid me!
Maybe it’s because I’m of that age
and retirement has peeped up over
my horizon. With 15 years to run
and the ability to access my funds
just five years away, the “amber
warning light” has come on and I’m
wishing I’d put more money into
my pension when I was younger.
