A common theme in the world of investing is that you
never know what is just around the corner. This is even more
pertinent when you retire, as your earning power will be
dramatically reduced and you may already be locked into a
pension plan.
The next issue of Trustnet Magazine will look at the options
available to you if your circumstances change significantly after
you have stopped working – and what you can do to make sure
you are prepared for the worst-case scenario.
This is all academic for a significant proportion of the UK
population, however, who even after the introduction of the autoenrolment scheme, still don’t have a pension. We will look at why
many people, despite repeated warnings from experts, still aren’t
willing to invest their money in this way.
Away from the central theme of this issue, we will look at the IA
Europe sector – an area of the market that many fund managers
had tipped to do well at the start of this year, but that has flattered
to deceive since then.
