The best time to buy a stock is when it is at its lowest point , but this often coincides with the moment when sentiment is at its most negative – after all , it doesn ’ t matter how cheaply you buy something if there is a strong chance you will lose 100 % of your money .
Yet many companies once regarded as “ uninvestable ” have managed to turn themselves around and deliver outsized gains to investors with nerves of steel who bought in at their lowest point .
