This may not sound spectacular , but , given that the average company is unlikely to grow at more than 5 % over the long run , the returns from a business growing at 10 %, compounding year after year after year , can be very meaningful . Monks is firmly convinced that the only way to deliver superior investment returns for shareholders is to ignore the short-term whims of the market and focus instead on committing capital for long periods of time to sustainably successful businesses .
