a tough year for asset managers. The
collapse of Woodford Investment
Management dealt a body blow to a
sector already struggling with trust
issues. However, the seeds of a revival
could be found in the growth of
sustainable investment.
After a dismal conclusion to 2018,
investors re-embraced risk at the
start of 2019. The key was, once
again, interest rates. At the start
of the year, the consensus was for
a gradual tightening of monetary
policy and it looked as if it could be
a tough year for bonds. However, as
the Federal Reserve started to fret
