VOLUNTEERS
Lend a hand... or a few!
By Diane Taylor, Coordinator of Volunteers
Calling on groups with members ages 15 and older! Are
you looking for a fun group project that will allow you
to team build with the feel-good result of helping your
community? Try volunteering at the Louisville Zoo!
The Zoo has the following on-going projects:
• Horticulture Department: put on your gardening
gloves and assist with beautifying our grounds including
mulching, pulling grasses, planting bulbs, and more.
• Maintenance Department: see the difference a little
love makes by painting, mending fences and other odd
jobs as needed.
Need a little excitement?
We’re also accepting
Special Event volunteers.
We have a variety of groups that
assist every year with different projects
including UAW – Ford, UPS, Humana,
Mercy Academy, Saint Xavier High
School and Bullitt East National Honor
Society, Nur Islamic School
and DuPont Manuel Key Club to
name a few.
Thanks to all of you! We couldn’t
do what we do without your help!
If you’re interested in having your group volunteer,
please email [email protected]. I’m looking
forward to hearing from you!

From Mayor Greg Fischer
Compassion is one of our city’s core
values — it’s how we build the social
muscle needed to overcome adversity,
whether it be man-made or from Mother
Nature. Louisville is recognized as a worldwide
leader in compassion, and in the coming months,
you have the opportunity to help us show why.
Last year, the Mayor’s Give a Day Week of Service resulted in 180,000 volunteers and acts of
compassion. That’s a world record that we’re planning to beat this April for the 2018 Give a Day Week
of Service. Whether you give an hour or a day, donate blood, give food, clothing or simply help a
neighbor, everyone can participate at the level they choose!
To get started, please visit mygiveaday.com. And thanks for helping make Louisville the most caring
and compassionate city in the world!
