Art Contest as part of the Party for the
Planet: A Month-Long Celebration of
the Earth Powered by LG&E and KU.
Now we need entries for our
2016 Trashformation contest!
Sunday, April 17
Hang with the Bats
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Fly over and learn more about some of nature’s favorite nocturnal fliers. Enjoy special keeper talks about our vampire and
fruit bats as well as an appearance from Stellaluna!
Trashformation is open to students
from pre-school to grade 12. Students
can submit individual entries or
submit as a group. Download the
Trashformation registration form at
louisvillezoo.org/trashformation. Entry
registration deadline is March 21, 2016.
Winners will be notified by April
14 and MUST be present at a press
conference on April 16 during the Zoo’s
Earth Day celebration.
Saturday, April 23
Eco-Partner: Louisville Zoo Docents
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Louisville Zoo educators located around the Zoo explain and
demonstrate ways you can help our planet.
Sunday, April 24
World Penguin Day
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Waddle over and spend the day learning all about the our
Rockhopper penguins. Special keeper presentations will
be held throughout the day. Learn about the Zoo’s newest
exhibit, Penguin Cove, featuring our new “Little” blue penguins, before the exhibit opens on May 14.
Saturday, April 30
Eco-Partner: Kentucky Science Center
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Learn about the importance of recycling, nature conservation and more with Kentucky Science Center! Test out
different types of plastics; explore the science behind frogs,
energy, and the way humans impact our planet.
