It’s all about positioning our city to be strong, and giving all citizens the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. And that starts with our children! This year, our city saw expansion of the Compassionate School Proj- ect within JCPS — a curriculum that includes mindfulness-based instruc- tion, social-emotional skills training and attentive movement. The Louisville Zoo, one of our city’s fine educational institutions, fits perfectly into that curriculum, and our city’s goals. The Zoo’s educational programs allow children to learn in an environment that en- courages mindfulness and compas- sion toward their community, each other and wildlife around the globe. So I urge parents to consider enrolling your children in Zoo edu- cation programs to enhance their compassion and to keep their minds and bodies active during the school breaks.
