lasting bonds this holiday
season.
The Louisville Zoo Enrichment Tree,
sponsored by the Louisville Chapter of
the American Association of Zoo Keepers
(AAZK), is similar to the Angel Trees seen
inside malls. The difference is that your
donations go to help your favorite Zoo animals
get new enrichment items!
Starting in December, guests will see a tree on the Zoo’s
front plaza decorated with paw print tags. Each tag lists
an animal and an enrichment item keepers think they will
enjoy. The tree will be up the entire month of December.
It’s easy to help. Simply remove a tag, purchase an enrichment item
or include a gift card toward its purchase and return it to the Zoo receptionist
desk during normal business hours by December 31! Gift cards are also used
to purchase materials to build many different enrichment items like puzzle feeders or buy
items like mirrors and artificial plants. Items donated can be large or small, so everyone can
participate!
