Fall is a Great Time to be a Member!
As the cooler fall days arrive, the Zoo starts gearing up for "The World’s
Largest Halloween Party!” presented by Meijer. While Halloween at the
Zoo is truly spectacular, our members know there’s lots to do at
the Zoo all year round! Get out and ZOO something different
during these cooler autumn days.
The Membership office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A NEW EXPERIENCE
We’ve been listening to what Zoo members value most and are
excited to announce our new EXPERIENCE benefits package.
We are happy to offer you an opportunity to enjoy more animal
experiences, bring more guests, meet more Zoo keepers and
learn more about how you are helping to save wildlife
and wild places — PLUS enjoy some popular rides
and attractions. Included in the EXPERIENCE benefits
package are 4 guest passes, unlimited carousel rides,
5 train tickets, 2 lorikeet feeds, 2 giraffe feeds and
an invitation to one of our three exclusive annual
EXPERIENCE events.
These fun after-hours EXPERIENCES will treat you to the
ultimate Zoo visit. The EXPERIENCE benefits package
is included with the new Family Plus EXPERIENCE
membership level and donor-level memberships
(Curator, Nature’s Guardian and Wildlife Champion).

When are EXPERIENCE
Events held and how do
I sign up if I have the
membership level that
qualifies?
There will be one themed event
created each year held on 3
different dates (May 30, June
26, and July 23 for 2019). You
and those covered on your
membership can select one of
the dates to attend as a group.
Invitations will be emailed
in early 2019 to qualifying
membership levels (be sure we
have a correct email address),
or you can check back at
LouisvilleZoo.org/experience for
updates.
Can I still purchase a
Safari Gold membership?
I can’t find it online.
As of July 5, 2018 we
retired the Safari Gold
membership, so it is not
available for renewals or
new purchases. Current
Safari Gold memberships
are valid through your
current expiration date
at which time we would
encourage you to
consider the Family Plus
EXPERIENCE membership
which includes ride
opportunities in the benefits
package listed above.
Why did you retire the Safari Gold
membership that included unlimited train
and carousel rides?
Many Safari Gold members expressed
disappointment with the ride package over
the past few years. The train wasn’t always
running when they visited. Safety is our
most important priority at the Zoo, and
with our high standards for train and track
maintenance, the train can be closed for
minor repairs, ongoing regular maintenance,
track inspections, rainy days and so forth.
To improve overall satisfaction, we opted
to create a new package that continues to
offer unlimited carousel rides and also offers
some train tickets, extra guest passes, popular
animal experiences plus a new signature
after-hours event — overall providing a more
comprehensive and engaging Zoo experience.
