Dotwork, sometimes known as stippling, produces some of the most complex pieces from one of the simplest symbols, a dot. At TrueArtists, we saw some people online commenting that dotwork was a fad. Our take is it's not, looking at the work on these pages, it will stand the test of time. If something becomes popular at given times and then can evolve while new artists and new techniques allow artists to innovate & reinvent styles over time, then that's a good thing.

What can be said about this technique, is the craft & patience is obvious. One error, one blown out series of dots can cause problems for even the most talented of artists. As you'll see in these next few pages, the time and skill taken to execute these beautiful pieces is beyond question, the shadowing, symmetry, and sheer size of some of the pieces reflects a unique blend of artistry, patience and eye for detail, plus experienced technique with needls & ink that will stand over time.
