Once you have a cutthroat trout to your net you can't help but appreciate how pretty these fish really are. From their yellow/green coloring to that orange slash under their mouth and the black spotting on their backs, they are definitely one of the most captivating fish you can catch in an environment to match it. After a few very quick grip and grins I make sure the fish is back in the net and in the water, this is when I usually get some of my best photos. It is by far my favorite way to photograph cuttys and most trout if the environment is right. The crystal clear mountain water often times accentuates the delicate beauty of these fish bringing out the colors and characteristics that makes each one unique.
