I was born and raised in northern Utah and continue to reside there. I've been married for almost nine years to my sweetheart and we have three children ages 7, 3, and 1.
I picked up my love of fishing and photography from my dad. Some of my earliest memories are fishing with him on high mountain creeks for native Bonneville Cutthroat trout. We still enjoy fishing together on those same creeks to this day.
I studied and graduated with degrees in Art and Business at Utah State University, along with playing on the football team there. Some of my favorite rivers and creeks are up in Cache Valley. Soon after graduating, my wife and I started up our Wedding/Portrait photography business and that is where I get most of my justification for buying my camera gear. I love taking pictures of the places I visit and the fish that live there so I can re-live those memories later.
Photography and fly fishing have led me to meet some great people and visit some great places. I was recently invited to be on the R.L. Winston Rod Co. Pro Photography Team and now have a little bit of an obsession with their rods. I enjoy taking pictures while fishing almost as much as I like catching fish and will often be more proud of my photography than the fish I catch on a certain trip.
One of my favorite things is seeing other peoples reactions to pictures I take of them while fishing. That brings me just as much pleasure as catching big fish. Thank you for allowing me to share my love of fishing and photography in this awesome magazine!
