PAULETTE MAYO
Paulette Mayo grew up in a large family in East Texas . Paulette and her husband Clay have 5 children and 6 grandchildren . Always wanting to become a teacher , Paulette later received her degree in English and Art from the University of Texas at Tyler . Mrs . Mayo has taught for 25 years , beginning with kindergarten , 3rd grade , 5th grade reading , 7th grade writing , elementary and middle school art , and
lastly 8th grade ELA , which she currently teaches at Troup Middle School . Mrs . Mayo has also supported and encouraged students outside of the classroom by serving as Student Council Sponsor and ESL coordinator . Currently she is serving as the National Honor Society Advisor .
Mrs . Mayo believes that building positive relationships paired with a stimulating climate in the classroom is key to student success . Mrs . Mayo teaches with passion and motivation in an effort to spark a positive atmosphere and an engaging classroom . She feels that it is extremely important for students to know their teacher cares about their education and well-being . Her goal every year is to have the type of classroom her students look back on and say , “ 8th grade in Mrs . Mayo ’ s classroom was the best .”

AMANDA GRIFFIN
Amanda Griffin and was born in Purcell , Oklahoma and moved to Tyler at the age of 13 . She graduated from Robert E . Lee High School in 1994 . The family moved to the Troup area 10 years ago as her oldest daughter was starting kindergarten . She became a substitute at the Troup ISD Child Care Center
as her youngest daughter started attending the daycare at the age of 4 . She worked as the Assistant Director at the daycare for one year until it closed . Amanda began substitute teaching at Troup High School 4 1 / 2 years ago . In 2017 , she had the opportunity to accept a full-time position at Troup High School as the front office receptionist . Troup High School is an awesome place to work .
