Troup ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year 2021
CHERISH
Cherish Hultberg HULTBERG lives in Jacksonville with her husband , Chris , of nine years , a son , and two daughters . Mr . and Mrs . Hultberg moved to East Texas 8 years ago and are proud to raise their children in this area where they enjoy watching their children play soccer . Their family spends quality time reading and spending time with one another .
Mrs . Hultberg completed her student teaching at Troup Elementary , and was very excited when she was offered a third-grade teaching position . She graduated with her Bachelor ’ s degree in Education in 2010 ; and in 2014 , she obtained a Master ’ s in Educational Best Practices . She has been teaching at Troup Elementary for seven years and she is passionate about telling others that she loves being a part of this school district . She loves the “ Aha ! Moments ” in teaching , but most of all she loves finding the things that work for each individual student so they can have their Aha ! moments . Mrs . Hultberg says she has had many great mentors throughout the years and she is very thankful for each and every one of them . Troup Elementary has become her home and she considers everyone family . She is honored to be Troup Elementary ’ s Teacher of the Year .

JANNA LACY
Janna Lacy was born and raised in Troup and is a 2008 graduate of Troup High School . She received her Bachelor ’ s degree in Mathematics from UT-Tyler in 2012 . She is completing her 8th year in education , all of which have been at Troup High School . She currently teaches Algebra 1 , Geometry and Senior Math . She also coaches high school and middle school cross country along with being an assistant track coach . She believes her job to help her students succeed by setting an example of hard work , giving them the tools they need to be successful , and providing motivation and encouragement . She is married to her husband , Hunter , and enjoys spending time with family . She is blessed to work at Troup ISD and is honored to represent Troup High School as teacher of the year .
