Our publication is now six years old. When we began producing the magazine in the South African autumn in 2010, we had few resources, but we were fueled mainly by dreams and inspiration. The resources followed, thankfully. We owe a debt of gratitude to the many people who supported us along the way. Quite a few of those people include the many gures who compose the editorial board of TROPICS MAGAZINE as well as our consulting editors. Certainly, we owe a debt of gratitude to the many contributors who have submitted their ne work and, doing so, furthered our project. Most of all, we are thankful for our many readers who sustain us and nurture our publication. Thank you all. TROPICS MAGAZINE is a god of transitions and thresholds. A sixth anniversary is a time of transition. Our publication is beginning to shift from the position of an up and coming media platform to a stabilized publication that has begun to solidify a reputation as the biggest global fashion and lifestyle media platform for the cosmopolitan reader. Perhaps now more than ever, the world hungers for a space that reects its needs and for genuine thinking to cultivate a dwelling place for human beings on this earth among one another. We hope we have and will continue to carve out a space for just this kind of culture. Anniversaries are also thresholds. Where will this threshold lead us? That will largely depend upon the contributions from our editorial team.
